About the manoir
Within the beautiful countryside of 'Pas-de-Calais' in France, there was an old romantic manoir in the middle of a beautiful garden, divided in two by a lovely flowing river. It’s still a very peaceful place, filled with positivism and nature, yet with the little village at close range. This inspiring place is still here: "Reveries a l’Authie" is situated on a romantic estate, borded by the Authie river, with a 0,6 ha parc and home grounds just a few steps away from the towncenter of Auxi-le-Château, about 125 km from Calais.
The Manoir, rich in history, was built in 1740 and contains original details as the old romantic foyer, ornemental fireplaces, wooden panneling and stainted glass. The spacious dininghall, with ceilings of almost 4 meters high, was used for game banquets by the count and countess of Hesdin. Still present and in original condition is the ornamented lodging of the hounds. The estate breaths a serene tranquility and is a perfect place to return to. The whole offers: an inspiration for parties and other occasions or just to relax in busy times.

After an entire life with adventures; the raising of two beautiful children, nice and beautiful jobs and also living in the most fantastic houses, I had ‘reveries’ about living, sharing, and dreaming at a castle in France...

Until April 2021 I had a completely different, wonderful, life in the Netherlands. With two fantastic children, many good friends, a nice job and a beautifully renovated 1930s house in Leiden, I had a good life, a more than good life..

Stay a night or two in one of our beautiful manor rooms, where we’ll welcome you with a drink. Join us for dinner on arrival (for a small fee) or cook your own meal in our well-equipped kitchen. Relax with a book, play games, or enjoy a drink in the orangery, it's all up to you!
